A friend from across the desert sent an inspirational quote which I could totally relate to, perhaps because I am indeed caught in such a situation..albeit the magnitude and depth of my experiences cannot possibly surpass that of great commander and leader, Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the U.S.
Most of us are more familiar with his cousin, Franklin Roosevelt, the 32nd President of the United States, who is touted to be one of the most influential Presidents in the U.S History. Little do many of us know that Theodore Roosevelt was one of the few Presidents who actually fought in a war. In this case, it was the Spanish-American War.
We all get in touch with metaphors of war during our life time, so let him be my inspiration, and yours too. 🙂
“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure,
Than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much,
Because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.”
– Theodore Roosevelt –
