KC: Can I meet you later, like around 8pm?
Me: Darling, KC asked if he can meet us later, but I’m feeling very tired. Can you pick me up earlier? [this msg was actually meant for JW, but I somehow sent it to KC instead]
KC: Wrong darling la. Anyway, I can meet you earlier.
How embarrassing. ๐

These were the people who made my Beijing stint bearable, and it warms my heart to know that our friendship transcends all boundaries. ๐ It has been 2-3 yrs now, but we have always made it a point to keep in touch with one another although we have all moved on to the different stages of our lives. Some have relocated for work and couldn’t join us for dinner. Others like TS are now mothers, while Ash and myself are walking down the aisle within the next couple of months.
After dinner, JW picked me up for a drink at Starbucks followed by a heartwarming yet absoluting hilarious French movie entitled “Welcome to the Land of the Shtis”. I was bowled over by the portrayal of human emotions, witty dialogues and vivid images of quaint village houses tucked away amidst serenity.
JW’s attempt at an artistic “armpit” shot (except that in this case, the armpit has been replaced by the handle of a mug.His supposedly artistic angled shot:
I usually don’t do lunch on weekends because I can’t wake up in time. Even if I do manage to wake up, I can never open my eyes wide. That explains the sleepy eyes here.
Anyway, here are my favourite classical compositions. Just thought it’ll be nice to share these masterpieces:
1) Verdi’s La Traviata (Placido Domingo and Lucia Popp)
2) Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 (Daniel Barenboim)
3) Beethoven’s Pathetique Sonata Movement 2
4) Liszt’s Liebestraum (Lang Lang)
F1 Grand Prix (Friday’s race)
I’m not much of an F1 fan, but I had an incredible time munching on free food and gossiping with my crazy colleagues. Erm…I sound so auntie.
Here’re some lousy pics from my hp:
I can’t imagine why anyone would pay so much to watch the race from the grandstand. Our weather is so hot and humid!!
The waitresses were very amazed when we ordered this after devouring our main courses. I may be skinny, but I eat like a cow.

I think we look like kids.
