I’m a pastel blue convert. It is refreshing without coming across as being overly sweet, especially when other elements such as crotchet lace, floral prints and bows come into play.
Chictopia has been my source of inspiration lately and I’ve been following some fashionistas for my daily dose of fashion. I’m currently hooked on to Mellow Mayoness. She coordinates colours (especially pastels) and prints so effortlessly it’s practically a breeze for her!
And now, here’s my take on pastels. I never thought that candy colours like pastel green and pastel pink would go well together.
I got the top from Far East Plaza eons ago and the skirt was a one-off piece from a Korean shop called The Dress at the second floor of Far East Plaza.
I paired the outfit with cute pastle green ribbon peeptoes from Mondo (which was a steal at only $23.90!), and my new vintage Aigner straw bag from Dustbunny Vintage.
Karen, Janice, Jolene and I met up one early Sunday morning to catch the Valentino Retrospective exhibition at RWS.

Valentino Retrospective is an exclusive exhibition of Valentino’s collections dating from 1959. What better way than to start the day with a spectacular display of exquisite gowns in timeless designs!
I love the design house’s use of feminine elements such as bows, lace and 3D embellishments to bring out the individual character of each gown without compromising on style. The details on each gown are so intricate that every piece is a treasured work of art!

Inspired by the beautiful gowns, we spent the rest of the afternoon shopping for new clothes! Sometimes, a little retail therapy is all a girl needs after a long hectic week at work. Don’t you girls agree? π

We popped by Victoria’s Secret, followed by one of my favourite shops, Dustbunny Vintage. I have so many dresses from Dustbunny Vintage because there are so many unique, one-off pieces in this treasure trove that you’ll literally be spoilt for choice!
I got to know Stacie a couple of years back when we were working in the same company and we hit it off almost immediately. We arranged to meet up recently for drinks, followed by dinner at Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken.
We haven’t met in a long time but like good old friends, we just picked up from where we left off. It was quite amazing because our conversation just flowed for hours on end while the food and drinks kept coming.
I never used to like red, but I started taking a liking to the colour in recent years because it seems to complement my fair skin tone. It also adds a pop of colour to the rows of black dresses that hang in my wardrobe.
This particular dress, which I wore for the first day of CNY, caught my eye because of its origami inspired design and the cute embroidered sparrows sprinkled all over. It looks almost like a painting, don’t you think? The well cut silhouette accentuates the female form, making this the perfect alternative to a cheongsam.
Hey guys, are you still gorging on those CNY goodies? CNY is that time of the year when you can devour the most sinful snacks without feeling guilty, just because everyone else around you is doing it too! I’ve been eating so many chocolates, bak kwa and pineapple tarts that I can sense a sore throat coming my way!
Two days ago, I had my reunion dinner with my in-laws at Dian Xiao Er, one of my favourite mid-tier Chinese restaurants. In line with the festive cheer, I threw on a tangerine ruffled dress to partake in the season’s festivities!
If you ever head down to Dian Xiao Er, be sure to try the flavourful duck and crispy cod fish as these are highly raved dishes that you won’t want to miss.

Families are the compass that guide us. They are the inspiration to reach great heights, and our comfort when we occasionally falter. — Brad Henry
I think this quote captures the essence of Chinese New Year. It is not only that time of the year for endless feasting, but it is also that time of the year when families come together as one to bask in the purity of family bliss, knowing deep inside our hearts that we are who we are today because of our family’s guidance and upbringing, and most importantly, that familial love will always stand the test of time.

Here, I tried to strike a balance by pairing my pretty floral bow top (it’s a reversible top with a cat print behind!) with simple white ruffled shorts for running errands on a weekend.
Love it? Hate it? I’ll love to hear from you!
I attended baby Leonidas’s 1st month anniversary recently and boy is baby Leonidas blossoming into a hunk! The adorable one was sleeping most of the time whilst we helped ourselves to the sumptuous spread.

After the party, JW and I headed to Forty Hands at Tiong Bahru to check out the tau sar pao (chinese bun with red bean paste). The tau sar pao here has received rave reviews in 8 days and I’ve been dying to try it!
At S$2.50 (most paos are only about S$0.80), this pao had better be good! The bun was fluffy and of just the right density while the red bean filling was very smooth with just a hint of sweetness. I liked it very much!

The only grouse that I have about Forty Hands is the lack of non-caffeinated drinks on its menu. I can’t take coffee, and the only non-caffeinated drink it serves is hot chocolate, which is way too sweet when paired with tau sar pao.
Finally, here’s what I wore that day. A simple pink rosette top from F21 and green bow shorts.
Now, it does appear that I like all things wild, such as Wild Honey and more recently, Wild Rocket (Haha what were you thinking?!?).

Nestled amidst lush greenery at Mount Emily, Wild Rocket is a cozy retreat that offers very interesting cuisine.
The restaurant serves, in its owner’s own words, Mod Sin (i.e. modern Singaporean) cuisine. The menu here is refreshingly different from other run of the mill restaurants as it is infused with a mesh of western and Singaporean influences.
We were there just a couple of weeks back (after lunch at Marmalade Pantry!) to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we loved everything that we had (we took the 4 course degustation menu) except for the dessert, which was a little too funky for me at least.
I was most impressed with our first course. I had linguine with salted fish, and believe me, it tasted way more heavenly than it sounds.
Finally, here’s what I wore that day – a beautiful dress from Dustbunny Vintage.
Over at my office, we celebrated Christmas with our annual gift exchange/potluck party on Christmas eve.
Pretty girls all in a row. π

This was the time of the year when we all played the role of santa claus, distributing presents to each and everyone early in the morning. It was a sight to behold. Imagine receiving presents in place of work files on your desk!
We also had a massive department-wide S$2 gift exchange where we were each supposed to buy a present worth S$2. We then proceeded to put all the gifts in a sack and conducted a lucky dip for everyone. I received a packet of yoghurt drinks. Not too bad for a S$2 gift. π
