Here’re the photos before I forget about them. I think I must be one of the very few brides to be who attend gown fittings and the trial makeup session without the groom in tow.
Two friends wanted to come along for the trial makeup session, but they weren’t available at the last minute. 😛 I wasn’t the least bothered though, for I have confidence in my own taste…hahaha

Thanks for dropping by my blog :). I designed the evening gown together with my designer and the intent was really to make me look like a mermaid haha. I love it too, and the best part is, I get to keep it as it’s part of my package!
Which studio did you sign up with? Don’t worry, I’m sure your photos will turn out great! You can also think about hiring one of the better photographers for your actual day. 😉

I’m also a Sil bride and want to check if Gin is really good?? I read from forums that she is the most raved MUA from Sil… so still considering if I shd shell out another $500 for Liren, or just stick with Gin…

Gin is very good for dramatic makeup, especially eye make-up. Same goes for hair.
If I remember correctly, Liren’s makeup is more natural, so it really depends on what you like. I personally won’t shell out $500 for a more renowned makeup artist, but the decision is yours! 😉

Yes, Liren is more natural and I’m going for that look really. So I’m afraid Gin will be too drama for me. I’m sure you researched on Gin before and from your experience, you think Gin can do natural? I’ve read so many good reviews about Gin that I’m confused too.
I’m so impressed with Liren, but the money can be put to better use. Like dresses for jie meis, or nicer wedding bands.
Oh ya, do you need to top up for early make up, ampoules etc? Cos Liren’s price is inclusive of all.

Actually, I’ve never researched on Gin before. My friend engaged her services for her own wedding, and I thought her makeup was very natural, except for the eye make-up.
In fact, that was the same case for me. My foundation was very light during both my trial makeup session and photoshoot. My trial make-up was very natural too, but it wasn’t captured very well in my photos haha. The only thing that was drama abt my trial was my layers of fake eyelashes, which in my opinion, still looks natural.
Ultimately, It’s really up to you to convey your preferences to her. In general, it definitely helps if you have good skin so that the MUA can go easy on the foundation/concealer bit.
As for the cost, everything is included. I don’t remember her using ampoules though. 🙂

hi reg, thanks for the pics. i already confirmed with Caroline to have Gin as my MUA. yup i find your trial m/u very natural too. i hope to go light on the foundation as well cos i don't usually use foundation. just LP. now, even lazier… don't even m/u 😛
Caroline also confirmed that there are no additional charges that Gin will collect on the AD and they don't use ampoules.
did you get your accessories from Sil or you bought them? i just bought 2 earrings to go with my WG & CS.

Ya I get what you mean..I don’t like to put foundation or loose powder nowadays too. I focus more on my eye makeup usually ;).
I borrowed Sil’s accessories for my photoshoot, but I’ll be wearing my own jewellery on my AD. My AD’s in Jan 09 :). What about yours?

actually i prob won’t wear necklace for my gown… keep it simple and leave attention on the gown 😛 who is ur designer at Sil?

hi Regina, so coincidental – actually i purposely avoided the first lift cos it was full of colleagues and i was so casually dressed. this week is our casual week, so actually ppl in my coy don't dress like that normally! haha..
i didn't upload my WG pics cos SO wants to keep the suspense. but so many of the SGBrides girls have also asked to see, maybe i'll post it up protected. i mean u guys are not coming for my wedding, so technically, there is no suspense needed to be kept!
r u on multiply? actually my gown was modelled in the Raffles Hotel show and there's a pic online. since it is OTR, it is not like super elaborate or anything. but i have a BIG cancan i'm proud of. hahaha… mine's a duchess satin with beadings & sweetheart neckline
i haven't chosen my veil yet! maybe i'll get it at trial. u did trial on a weekday? i wanted to do it on a weekend for a friend's wedding. dunno if Gin free
